Former Polish FM receives Ukrainian state distinction

A former Polish foreign minister has been awarded a Ukrainian state distinction by President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian Ukrinform agency has reported.

Jacek Czaputowicz, who held the post of Polish foreign minister in the years 2018-2020, received the Order of Merit of Ukraine, 3rd class.

The Ukrainian president announced his decision to honour Czaputowicz together with over 30 Ukrainians on Friday, the Day of Unity of Ukraine.

Ukrainian Ambassador to Poland Andrii Deshchytsia congratulated Czaputowicz on social media on his distinction and thanked him for cooperation for the partnership of Poland and Ukraine.

Czaputowicz resigned from his post in August 2020.
