The Polish Foreign Ministry has advised against all travels to Ukraine and has asked all Poles staying in that country to leave immediately.

The Foreign Ministry issued the statement on Thursday following the Russian aggression on Ukraine. It recommended that all Poles staying in the country should immediately register with the Odysseus system and follow all information issued by the ministry on its website and on social media.

The Odysseus system allows Poland’s foreign ministry to contact every registered person and provide help.

Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a special military operation in Ukraine's Donbass region in the early hours of Thursday morning. In a special televised address on Russian state TV, Putin said Russia has been left with no choice but to defend itself against what he said were threats emanating from modern Ukraine.
