Foreign ministry appeals to public to avoid foreign travel

The Polish Foreign Ministry appealed to people on Friday to avoid foreign travel and said that at the current stage of the coronavirus epidemic's development, no place in the world is free of the risk of infection.

"Due to the fact that at the current stage of the coronavirus epidemic's development, no place in the world is free from the risk of infection, and in some regions of the world the situation is changing very dynamically, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends avoiding foreign travel that is not necessary," the ministry wrote on its website.

The ministry added that in the event of a decision to leave, people should follow all the recommendations of the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate and monitor the communications of the World Health Organization and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.

Poland confirmed four new coronavirus infections on Friday, bringing the total count to 68. So far one person has died of the disease.
