Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz took part in a videoconference on Wednesday on the application of IT technology in combatting the coronavirus epidemic. The meeting was hosted by Estonia and Singapore.

The main topic was the use of digital technology for preventive treatment and in the treatment of infected patients. Czaputowicz also raised the issue of online disinformation and cyber-attacks, noting that some were aimed against hospitals and other centres involved in fighting the epidemic.

Czaputowicz said Poland was ready to cooperate on many levels to raise the use if IT technology in the health service, adding that the effective digitalisation of medical procedures in Poland required cooperation between medical and IT experts.

Czaputowicz also voiced Poland's support of the conference's final declaration, in which its signatories list what should be done to computerise anti-epidemic medicine and other medical procedures.
