Ex Mrs World runner up launches app to keep track of pets and ‘help their social lives’

A former Miss World contestant has teamed up with a computer programmer to create an app that helps owners keep track of their pets and help out with the animals’ social life.
Monika Brochacka-Goździalska and Jordan Wojsym Antoniewicz came up with their Petgram idea after seeing what they decided was a gap in the market.
By combining a GPS tracking collar with the app which allows users to upload and share photos, the pair developed a series of functions which not only monitor a pet's activity and its location, but also offer a number of gamification elements combined with community activities.
Users can earn tokens for hitting certain targets such as going for long walks.
These include users being able to earn tokens for hitting certain targets such as going for long walks.
The tokens earned in the Petgram store can then be exchanged for real products.
Businesses can also connect with pet owners through the app and offer coupons or discounts as well as let users see reviews and information about their business before they arrive.
The app also lets pet owners know of other pets nearby.
Launched last month, Petgram gained 2,000 users in the first 24 hours and now the start-up has attracted the eye of investors with the Black Swan fund purchasing a 40 percent stake in the company for 4 million PLN.
Currently the service is only available in Polish but alternative language versions are being developed.
