EUR 740 mln budget surplus after September - MinFin

Poland's budget surplus after September 2018 amounted to PLN 3.2 billion (EUR 740 million), the Finance Ministry announced in a press release on Wednesday.

Budget revenue after September stood at PLN 272.9 billion (EUR 63.05 billion), or 76.7 percent of the annual plan, with expenses at PLN 269.7 billion (EUR 62.31 billion), or 67.9 percent of the annual plan.

September's VAT revenue was 4.7 percent higher year on year, while PIT income rose by 13.9 percent year on year. CIT income grew by 16.6 percent. Revenues from excise taxes and taxes on gambling grew 5.1 percent year on year.

Tax revenues from some financial institutions were 3.9 percent higher year on year.

In tune with the 2018 budget law, this year's budget revenue is to reach PLN 355.7 billion (EUR 81.65 billion) while expenditures are to reach 397.2 billion (EUR 91.17 billion).
