Employers submitting more job offers to labour offices - minister
September was the second month in a row in which the number of registered unemployed people decreased. Also, employers were submitting more and more job offers to labour offices, Minister of Labour and Social Policy Marlena Malag has told PAP.
According to data provided by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy on Tuesday, the estimated rate of the registered unemployed at the end of September this year was at 6.1 percent and remained at the same level as in August. The number of unemployed fell by 3,300, as compared to the previous month and amounted to 1,024,700 people.
Malag noted that the unemployment rate had stayed at the same level of 6.1 percent for four months. She assessed, therefore, that "one can say that a stabilisation of the labour market has been achieved in Poland and that public opinion has calmed down."
"This is especially visible in comparison with the beginning of the pandemic, when the spread of COVID-19 and the introduced restrictions aroused great concern among employees and employers. Thanks to three anti-crisis shields, it was possible to save jobs in Poland. The government allocated a total of PLN 142 billion (EUR 31.6 bln) for this purpose," stated the minister.
She also said that September was the second month in a row in which the number of unemployed people registered in labour offices fell. "Additionally, it's worth paying attention to the fact that employers are submitting more and more job offers to employment offices - in September there were 13,000 more than in August," added Malag.
