Corpus Christi, a Polish production directed by Jan Komasa, found itself on a list of nearly 90 films which have a chance of being nominated for the Golden Globe Award in the Foreign Language category.

The finalists of the 77th edition of the contest will be announced on December 9.

Corpus Christi was earlier selected as Poland’s official entry for the US Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category. At the 76th Venice Film Festival, the production received the Europa Cinemas Label award.

No Polish film has yet won the award granted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Komasa's film, inspired by real-life events, is the story of a twenty-year-old who, after leaving a juvenile detention center, pretends to be a priest.
