Corporate investment outlays up 4.3 pct in Q1 - stats office

Polish non-financial enterprises increased their investment spending by 4.3 percent year on year in the first quarter of 2020 to PLN 29.6 billion (EUR 6.5 billion), the Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported on Monday.

Spending on buildings and structures increased by 12.8 percent year on year. Spending on machines, technical devices, tools and on means of transport fell by 0.3 percent, GUS reported.

According to GUS, the largest increase in investment outlays occurred, among others in the water supply; sewerage and waste management; reclamation (up by 22.8 percent), manufacturing (by 14.1 percent), trade, and repair of motor vehicles (by 10.2 percent).

Investment expenditures have decreased, among others in the production and supply of electricity, gas, steam and hot water (by 4.9 percent), as well as in transport and storage (by 0.5 percent).
