Cops launch hunt for snake killer after eight pythons found STRANGLED to death in ‘woodland grave’

Police are hunting a snake killer after EIGHT Boa Constrictors were found strangled to death.
The pythons measuring between 3-6 metres long were discovered by a rambler near the village of Tarnowo Podgórne in the Wielopolska region.
The Boa constrictors were found inside a black plastic bin liner which had been partially buried on a woodland path.

Police spokeswoman Marta Mróz from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Poznań said: ‘The reptiles were spotted on January 12 this year by a walker on a forest road.
‘According to expert opinion, they were strangled.’
She added: ‘After inspecting the area where the animals were found a vet performed an autopsy.
Video posted by the police shows the mud-caked bodies of the snakes lined up next to a hole.
“It was found that they were constrictor snakes - pythons and boas from 3-to-6 meters long.
‘They were in various stages of decomposition, and according to the expert's opinion, the cause of their death was suffocation through strangulation.’
It is unclear how the rambler made the grim discovery but video posted by the police on its social media page shows the mud-caked bodies of the snakes lined up next to a hole.
Police spokeswoman Marta Mroz said the snakes ‘were in various stages of decomposition, and according to the expert's opinion, the cause of their death was suffocation through strangulation.’
Mróz said: “Investigators are asking anyone who has information about the owner, breeders or anyone who can help determine his identity to contact them.”
She added: “Police officers are investigating this case in connection with the violation of the Animal Protection Act.
“For killing them, the perpetrators could face up to three years in prison.”
