Cops bust Dark Web hacker gang InfinityBlack in joint raid with Swiss
A hacking gang called InfinityBlack which distributed stolen user credentials to obtain expensive electronics has been busted by Polish police.

After stealing loyalty scheme login credentials, the group sold them on to other criminal gangs, which then exchanged the loyalty points for high-end electronic devices.
Using a sophisticated script, the hackers accessed many Swiss customer accounts, causing losses estimated at 50,000 euros.
Among those arrested is reportedly the gang’s leader, a Polish man known as ‘Azatej’.
They were identified when using the stolen data in shops in Switzerland.
After the gang had been rounded up in Switzerland, the police discovered links to members of the separate hacking group in Poland.
Police say the gang had access to accounts with potential losses of more than €610 000.
Polish officers responded by searching six locations in five of the country’s regions, arresting five people who are believed to be members of InfinityBlack.
They seized electronic equipment, external hard drives and hardware cryptocurrency wallets worth a total of around 100,000 euros.

The police also closed down two platforms with databases containing over 170 million entries.
In a statement, Europol said: “The hackers created a sophisticated script to gain access to a large number of Swiss customer accounts.
“Although the losses are estimated at €50 000, hackers had access to accounts with potential losses of more than €610 000.
As this screenshot shows, Azatej had been active just before cops swooped.
“The fraudsters and hackers, among them minors and young adults, were unmasked when using the stolen data in shops in Switzerland.”
According to the business and technology news website zdnet, among those arrested was the gang’s leader known as Azatej.
The men now face 10 years in jail.
