Cheers to that! CD Projekt named Europe’s most valuable video game company

Warsaw-based CD Project has become the most valuable video game company in Europe.
Just five years after the release of their blockbuster ‘The Witcher: Wild Hunt’, this week the company’s market capitalisation reached PLN 36.5 bn (EUR 8.03 bn) on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In October last year, Bloomberg Intelligence named CD Projekt as one of the companies in the world to have “blockbuster potential” in 2020.
CD Project is now working on its next big title and is expected to release the eagerly anticipated “Cyberpunk 2077” this Autumn.
The gaming giant has now overtaken Paris-based industry heavyweight Ubisoft whose market value is approximately EUR 7.82 bn.
The company’s market value has been steadily increasing over the past few months.

The company was founded in May 1994 by video game retailers Marcin Iwiński and Michał Kiciński and initially acted as a distributor of foreign video games for the domestic market
CD Project is now working on its next big title and is expected to release the eagerly anticipated “Cyberpunk 2077” this Autumn.
Just like its predecessor, the video game is expected to shake up the industry.
