Champion Debaters Compete in Natolin
The most prestigious sports debating championship in Europe and one of the top three globally will be held at the College of Europe in Warsaw’s Natolin district on July 5-7.
Thirty-two of the best speakers from Europe and the world will gather to compete in one of the ‘TOP 3’ alongside the HWS (Hobart and William Smith Colleges) Round Robin in the USA and the Tournament of Champions in Macau. Among the contenders for the title will be undergraduates, PhD students and specialists from 11 countries in fields including economics, politics, IT, data science and physics.
The event’s special guests will be Eric Barnes, a lecturer from the US, a thought leader and organizer of elite championships in the USA, and Harish Natarajan, the most titled sports debater in the world, who was watched by hundreds of thousands of people in February during a historic duel in public debating against IBM’s artificial intelligence; a duel won by humanity.
The championships, called the European Round Robin, are being organized by the College of Europe in Natolin with the support of the Warsaw Debate Chamber and the Polish semi-finalist of the world championships, Radosław Czekan.
