Ceremonies marking Polish Veterans' Day start in Warsaw

President Andrzej Duda, Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak and the head of the Office for War Veterans and Victims of Oppression Jan Kasprzyk are taking part in the official ceremonies marking the Polish Independence Struggle Veterans' Day on Saturday.

The president will attend a Roll Call of the Fallen and address the gathering at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in central Warsaw.

The official part of the observance will end with a parade of Polish military, police, border guard and fire service units.

Saturday's ceromonies are also part of the World Congress of Polish Independence Struggle Veterans that started on Saturday. It features almost 300 veterans from Poland and 14 other countries.
