Canadian music event an opportunity to strengthen relations - ambassador
Ten artists from Poland will take part in this year's Canadian Music Week in Toronto, Canada. The music event will be a good occasion to strengthen relations through music creativity and art, said Canadian Ambassador to Poland Leslie Scanlon on Monday.
"Spotlight on Poland" will be a special part of this year's Canadian Music Week. Ten selected artists (music bands and soloists) will have an opportunity to present the Polish music sector to representatives of the Canadian market, as well the neighboring American market. The event will take place in Toronto, Ontario, in Canada, on May 19-23.
Throughout the week, the eyes of the entire world will be fixed on Toronto, said Scanlon during Monday's press conference in Warsaw. I am happy with the opportunity to strengthen the relationship between our countries, through music, joint creativity and art, she added.
Jaroslaw Czuba from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage pointed out that Canadian Music Week is one of the most important music events in the world. He added that for this reason, Poland was especially proud to be its special guest. "This is a great opportunity for the promotion of the Polish music industry and for the development of individual artists," he noted.
Now in its 38th year, Canadian Music Week is recognized as one of the premier entertainment events in North America. It is one of the oldest conferences addressed to representatives of new technologies and media, and is accompanied by a music festival. Every year, the event is visited by nearly 3,000 delegates who participate in fairs, panels and the concerts of several hundred bands.
