Catholics will not be required to attend Sunday mass until after Christmas after Poland’s bishops extended a dispensation introduced because of the Covid pandemic.

The dispensation, which lasts until December 27, also covers Christmas services. The Church is encouraging its faithful to participate in TV, radio and online services.

Under current sanitary regulations church attendance is limited to one person per 15 square metres.

Some dioceses have also ordained that confessions take place in open spaces instead of closed confessionals.
