Banks lend EUR 829.2 mln in consumer loans in May 2020 - central bank

Polish banks lent PLN 3.7 billion (EUR 829.2 million) in consumer loans in May 2020, up from PLN 2.62 billion (EUR 587.5 bln) in April, the country's central bank (NBP) said on Tuesday.

The average interest charged on consumer loans fell to 6.5 percent in May from 6.8 percent in April.

In January-May banks offered loans valued at PLN 23.1 billion (EUR 5.2 billion), down from PLN 31.7 billion (EUR 7.1 billion) in the same period of the previous year.
