Baltic Pipe at full capacity, operator reports

The Baltic Pipe natural gas pipeline from the North Sea to Poland via Denmark has achieved its full annual capacity of 10 billion cubic metres, the pipeline's Polish operator Gaz-System wrote on Wednesday in a statement.
The statement quotes Gaz-System CEO Tomasz Stepien as saying that at full capacity the Baltic Pipe was able to cover 60 percent of Poland's natural gas demand.
The Baltic Pipe went into operation on October 1, but until now worked in a limited scope owing to unfinished construction work on the Danish side.
The Baltic Pipe is a multi-billion joint venture by Polish and Danish gas operators, Gaz-System and Energinet, linking Norwegian natural gas fields to Poland and Denmark.
