"All hands on deck" motto of new health minister

Adam Niedzielski, named by the PM as the new Polish health minister, said on Friday that he wanted to base his actions on dialogue, openness and cooperation. He added that he would present a new coronavirus strategy for the autumn after he was appointed.

Niedzielski added that "all hands on deck" would be his motto.

PM Mateusz Morawiecki on Thursday announced that Adam Niedzielski would replace Lukasz Szumowski as the new health minister.

On Friday, Niedzielski met with Lukasz Szumowski to discuss challenges created by the coronavirus pandemic. He also declared that he would present chief guidelines of a strategy for the epidemic situation in the autumn after he was officially appointed.

"Work on the guidelines is under way. Minister Szumowski presented a detailed report regarding the shape of the strategy," he told reporters after the meeting.

He expressed his gratitude to the PM for the trust placed in him and appreciation of his work as the head of the National Health Fund (NFZ).
