About one million Pfizer vaccines to reach Poland soon - official
Close to one million Pfizer vaccines will arrive in Poland sooner than in the previously planned autumn, the government's commissioner for the vaccination programme has said.
Michał Dworczyk told a press conference on Thursday that, thanks to the efforts of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and several other politicians on the European forum, a decision was taken on Wednesday that would enable Poland to receive almost a million Pfizer vaccines quicker than previously expected.
He added that Poland had 1.8 million free openings for vaccinations in April and May and another half-million slots would be added in April, giving a total of 2.3 million open slots.
Dworczyk also said that due to a system error people who enrolled for vaccination in April would be offered dates in May and would receive information about this on Friday.
"We apologise for the error," he said.
