At 6 p.m. on Monday evening, Warsaw protesters against a constitutional court ruling which introduced a near total ban on abortion in Poland, began a march from the de Gaulle Roundabout, where they had been blocking traffic, to the seat of the Sejm (lower house).

The demonstrators carried banners with slogans against the abortion ruling and Poland's ruling party Law and Justice (PiS).

Protesters began blocking Warsaw's main traffic arteries at around 5:00 p.m. One of the biggest blockades took place at the Charles de Gaulle Roundabout in the city centre.

Monday marked a further day of protests against an October 22 constitutional court ruling which halted pregnancy terminations for foetal abnormalities and practically introduced a nearly total ban on abortion in Poland.
