8th European Financial Congress starts in Sopot

The 8th European Financial Congress starts in Poland's northern city of Sopot on Monday. Headlined "On the centenary - for an innovative and secure future of the financial sector," the congress is one of the most important events on the Polish financial market.

The congress will be inaugurated by Finance Minister Teresa Czerwińska.

Apart from three main debates, planned is also a Poland Capital Summit devoted to the Polish real estate market.

Established in 2011, the European Financial Congress (EFC) is a platform for debating issues of security, financial stability and economic growth in Europe, and for discussing measures to ensure a successful future for Poland and the European Union, the organisers wrote on the EFC website.

Each year the Congress is attended by more than 1,000 participants, among them members of European and national authorities, representatives of business, politics and science, regulatory and supervisory institutions as well as the media. Over the previous six editions of the Congress, more than 8 thousand participants have taken part in a total of 210 EFC debates.
